The architects of Silverman Trykowski Associates in Boston, Massachusetts were chosen to design the Greentown Labs Corporate Headquarters in Somerville, Massachusetts. Greentown Lab’s new facility is the World’s Largest Cleantech Incubator. The space includes research and development office space, outdoor and indoor presentation spaces, and maker space for prototyping.
The railing design integrated Hollaender’s Speed-Rail® cast aluminum structural pipe fittings with steel wire mesh infill panels to create an industrial and sleek design throughout the building.
The choice of the Speed-Rail® railing system made perfect sense for a place considered by many, as the epicenter of clean energy innovation. Speed-Rail® aluminum-magnesium 535 castings are made from reclaimed aluminum and have been a mainstay in the solar industry serving as structure for solar panels in both ground mount and flat roof applications. The prefabricated Speed-Rail® railing system was expertly weaved throughout the inside and outdoor office spaces and serves as the perfect accent to the architectural vision.
